Difference between Threaded Rebar Coupler and Cold Extrusion Rebar Coupler

2022-10-13

Different Usage

1. Threaded rebar coupler is to peel off part of the longitudinal ribs and transverse ribs at the ends of the steel bars to be connected by cutting with a thread rolling machine, and then roll them into ordinary straight threads directly, and connect them with a special threaded sleeve. The technology is efficient, convenient and fast.

2. Cold extrusion rebar coupler connection is to put two bars into the rebar coupler, then use a cold extruder to extrude the connection sleeve radially, so that the coupler is cold plastically deformed and the steel bars are tightened. This connection method is used for grade II and grade III steel bars with a diameter of 16 to 40 mm, which are divided into radial extrusion and axial extrusion.

Different Technology

1. Threaded rebar coupler relies on two pipe wrenches to tighten the steel bar and the casing to connect the two steel bars.

2. Cold extrusion rebar coupler is to squeeze the casing through the extrusion machine to clamp the steel bar to connect the two steel bars.
